Tom Duffy Moderates Superior Court Candidates Forum

Philadelphia – Tom Duffy, founder of Duffy + Partners, served as moderator for the“Decision 2017 Chancellor’s Forum” on April 18, 2017, hosted by the Philadelphia Bar Association and Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts. The forum brought together nine candidates vying for four seats on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

The candidates will compete in a primary election on May 16, 2017. Attendees had an opportunity to hear from each of the candidates and to ask questions.

“Forums like these are so important as they provide a preview of the future,” said Duffy. “The Superior Court of Pennsylvania is often the final arbiter of legal disputes and these individuals will help to set legal precedent in many matters.”

Deborah R. Gross, Chancellor, Philadelphia Bar Association, introduced the candidates. All nine were in attendance: William F. Caye II, Hon. Emil A. Giordano, Hon. Wade A. Kagarise, Hon. Deborah A. Kunselman, Hon. Maria C. McLaughlin, Hon. H. Geoffrey Moulton, Jr., Hon. Carolyn H. Nichols, Hon. Paula A. Patrick and Craig W. Stedman.

The Philadelphia Bar Association, founded in 1802, is the oldest association of lawyers in the United States. Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts is a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to ensuring that all Pennsylvanians can come to courts with the confidence that they will be heard by qualified, fair, and impartial judges.

Tom Duffy is a respected attorney who has helped the catastrophically injured in Philadelphia for close to 30 years. He has successfully argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, was named in 2015 to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Judicial Selection Commission and in 2014 was asked to appear before the Pennsylvania House Insurance Committee to discuss legislation affecting the Mcare Act.
