PA Ranks #2 in Medical Malpractice Claims

Pennsylvania ranked #32 on a list of the best and worst states to practice medicine, according to a study conducted by Wallethub.com, a personal finance website. The study compared working conditions of doctors using 16 key metrics, including physician wages, number and quality of hospitals, and malpractice insurance costs and claims. Pennsylvania was cited, in a recent medical malpractice payout analysis, as the 2nd highest state in the country with medical malpractice claims, paying out $342 million in 2017, according to the annual Diedrich Healthcare medical malpractice payout analysis.

New Jersey ranked third at $267.9 million, and New York was first, with $617.9 million.
