These helmets do not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, posing a risk of head injury. One concussion has been reported after a helmet came off during a crash. Consumers should stop using the helmets immediately and contact the company for disposal instructions to receive a refund.

Bestway, Intex, and Polygroup Above-Ground Pools
These companies are recalling certain above-ground pools, 48 inches and taller, due to a drowning hazard. The compression strap on the outside of the pool allows a child a foothold to climb into the pools. Nine drowning deaths have been reported. Consumers should contact the company to request a free repair kit. In the interim, they should ensure children do not have access to the pool or, alternatelyyards
drain the pool until the repair can be made.

CasaClean Handheld Steamers
Deale International is recalling its popular CasaClean Handheld Steamers due to the potential for serious burn injuries. The steamers can leak or spew boiling steam. There have been 26 reports of the steamers leaking water or steam, resulting in 13 burns. Consumers should immediately stop using the steamers and contact the company for instructions on safe disposal to receive a refund.

Creekliybear Play Yard Mattresses
These aftermarket “Pack and Play” yard mattresses don’t adequately fit certain play yards, and as such pose a potentially deadly entrapment hazard. Babies can suffocate in gaps or extra padding. Consumers should immediately stop using the mattresses and contact the company for instructions on how to receive a full refund.

DEWALT Grinder Flap Discs

Frigidaire-brand Minifridges
Curtis International is recalling the popular Frigidaire-brand minifridges, due to potential fire and burn hazards. The fridges’ internal electrical components can short circuit and ignite the housing. There have been 26 reports of the minifridges smoking, sparking, burning, melting, overheating, and catching fire. Resulting property damage has totaled more than $700,000. There also were 2 smoke inhalation injuries. Consumers should immediately stop using the minifridges, unplug and cut the power cord and write “Recall” in permanent marker across the front door. They can then dispose of the item in accordance with local and state regulations. Consumers should also contact the company for a full refund with proof of safe disposal.

Ozark Trail 64 oz. Water Bottles
Walmart is recalling its popular Ozark stainless steel insulated 64 oz. water bottles, as the lid can forcefully eject when you try to open it after beverages have been stored inside over time. This poses a potentially serious impact and laceration hazard. There have been 3 reports of the lid striking a user’s face, and two users suffered permanent vision loss when struck in the eye. The magnets that are on the inside cover can detach. This poses a danger to children if ingested, as they can become lodged in the digestive system resulting in serious injury or even death. These ramps pose a fall hazard. They cannot withstand the weight of equipment within their specified limits. Too large a load can cause them to bend or break while in use. There have been 35 reports of the ramps bending or breaking, resulting in 2 reports of knee and other injuries. Consumers should immediately stop using the ramps and return them to Tractor Supply for a full refund.

The lithium-ion batteries that power these bikes can overheat, which potentially causes fire and burn risks. There have been 14 reports of the batteries overheating, including 3 fires. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should contact the company for safe disposal instructions and a free replacement battery and charger.

Winston Products Expandable Burst-Proof Hoses
The 5/8-inch HydroTech Expandable Burst-Proof hoses can burst, which poses an impact hazard and also can temporarily impair hearing. There have been at least 222 reports of burst hoses, resulting in at least 29 injuries. These included one bone bruise, two sprains, and five instances of temporary impaired hearing. Consumers should immediately stop using the hoses. The company is offering a full refund—either in-store for Ace Hardware, Do It Best, Home Depot and Walmart—or online for other retailers. Consumers should follow the company’s specific instructions to receive the refund.
