Recall Roll Call: June, 2022

Recalls happen more often than you may think. Knowing the products that could be dangerous can help you stay safe. Here’s a quick recap of the major recalls for June 2022.

Aflac Plush Promotional Ducks

The ducks contained levels of lead and phthalate that exceed the federal standards, and that if ingested, can cause health issues in young children. No injuries were reported.

Demdaco Microwavable Bowl Holders

The bowl’s fabric can char after being microwaved for the suggested 3 minutes, posing a fire hazard.

Electrolux Frigidaire and Refrigerators

The ice level detector arm in the ice maker can break into pieces and fall into the ice bucket, posing a choking hazard. Electrolux has received 185 reports of the ice level detectors breaking, including one report of gum lacerations.

Hisense French Door Refrigerators with Ice Maker

The company has received 139 reports of the refrigerator doors loosening or detaching and five reports of injuries, including foot bruises and lacerations.

Intimidator and Mahindra Utility Vehicles

The throttle cable can freeze at low temperatures, which can cause the brakes to fail. The company has received 393 reports of throttle cables freezing, including four reports of crashes resulting in bruises.

Joey Clothing Children’s Robes (Leveret Brand)

These robes do not meet flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, and so they pose a risk of burns. No injuries have been reported.

Kroger Brand Acetaminophen (100 count)

This product was recalled because it did not have child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. No injuries were reported.

Kroger Brand Aspirin (300 count) and Ibuprofen (160 count)

This product was recalled because it did not have child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. No injuries were reported.

Kroger Arthritis Pain Acetaminophen (225 count)

This product was recalled because it did not have child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. No injuries were reported.

Loctek Fleximounts Overhead Garage Storage Racks

The company has received 18 reports that one of the U-shaped buckles on the supporting cables failed, causing the storage rack to fall. No injuries have been reported.

Nest Swing Egg Chairs (Tommy Bahama and Martha Stewart Brands)

The company has received 27 reports of the chairs collapsing or tipping over, including 19 reports of injuries, including cuts, scrapes, soreness and one report of broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

Schneider Electric Electrical Panels

The load center can overheat, posing thermal burn and fire hazards. No injuries have been reported.

SunVilla Corporation Solar LED Market Umbrella

The lithium-ion batteries in the umbrella’s solar panels can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. The company received 6 reports of the units overheating, 5 of the solar panels catching fire, and one smoke inhalation injury.

Target Children’s Cat & Jack Unicorn Cozy Pajama Sets

The children’s pajama sets fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

Walgreens Brand Acetaminophen (150 count bottles)

This product was recalled because it did not have child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. No injuries were reported.

WarmWave and Hunter Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heaters

The company has received eight customer reports of fire at the plug or cord and dozens of customer reports of the plug or cord overheating. There have been no reports of injury or death and one report of minor property damage.
