Yeti Recalls Popular Travel Mugs

Posted on November 12, 2020

Yeti has recalled almost 250,000 of its 20 ounce “Rambler” travel mugs due to a faulty lid that presents a potential burn hazard, according to multiple news reports. After being sealed, the lid’s magnetic slider can expel the mug’s hot contents “when agitated or inverted,” according to a CNN Business report.

While there have been no reported injuries yet, the company issued a voluntary product recall with the Consumer Product Safety Commission last week. The recall applies only to 20 ounce Rambler mugs sold on www.yeti.com and at Yeti retail stores from Oct. 1-9. Mugs sold at other outlets, including Amazon, REI and Dick’s Sporting Goods, and during other time frames do not feature the faulty Stronghold lid.

Customers will receive a full refund when they return the lid along with a return form. For questions or more information, see the company website, email productrecall@yeti.com or call 1-833-444-3151.
