Toyota Recalls 600,000+ Vehicles Due to Air Bag Malfunction

Posted on February 5, 2018

Local news reports indicate that Toyota has announced a massive worldwide recall of over 600,000 vehicles due to an air bag malfunction. The recall involves an electrical problem that stops air bags from inflating in a motor vehicle accident.

This is not the first recall related to inflation issues with air bags manufactured by Takata automotive parts company. The first recall was initiated in March of 2016 and expanded this past month, based on new information from Takata and as required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall includes several Toyota vehicle models, as well as some Scion and Lexus models. Click here for full details on the recall and affected vehicles.
