Duffy + Partners places four times on VerdictSearch “Top Verdicts” list
(Philadelphia,PA) Four client awards earned by the Philadelphia Lawyers of Duffy + Partners ranked on the VerdictSearch "Top PA Verdicts of 2010" supplement published by The Legal Intelligencer, the oldest law journal in the United States:
- Ranking 13th overall was Rice v. 2701 Red Lion Associates, a Products Liability and Design Defect action where a jury awarded $12,400,000 to the firm's client, a forklift operator who was crushed by pallets of frozen food when the warehouse racking he was working near collapsed upon him, resulting in partial paralysis
- Ranking at #34 overall was Estate of Wardrop v. A. Duie Pyle Inc., a Wrongful Death action where the firm attained a $1,700,000 settlement for the family of a warehouse worker who was killed when the driver of a tractor trailer being unloaded by the worker moved the truck without warning, causing the forklift he was operating to overturn, which caused his untimely death
- Mentioned in the top "Motor Vehicle" cases was Moyer v. Office Max, where a Philadelphia jury awarded $850,000 to the firm's client who had been struck and knocked down by a delivery truck as the truck was pulling out from the loading dock
- Included in the "Wrongful Death" cases was Estate of Fontanez v. Temple University Hospital Inc., where the firm successfully argued before a Philadelphia Jury that a 31-year-old man’s poor care at a local hospital led to his death, obtaining a $750,000 verdict for his family
