(Philadelphia)Duffy + Partners founder Tom Duffy joined over 100 donors and supporters from Magee Rehabilitation Hospital at the groundbreaking for the “Creative Therapy Center and Healing Gardens.”

The ceremony marked the beginning of development of a formerly vacant rooftop space at Magee into a haven where patients can complete therapy, gather with loved ones, reflect or simply relax in an outdoor sanctuary surrounded by sun, flowers, plants and art. In all, over $2.1 million was raised to finance the project. Duffy’s contribution resulted in the hospital opting to name a portion of the space “Duffy Avenue.”

“Tom was the very first person to step up and make a lead gift to the campaign,” said Mark Chilutti, Magee’s Assistant Vice President of Development. “He saw the value in the project and was happy to get the fundraising started. We are truly appreciative of his continued support in improving all that we do for our patients and their families.”

Construction of the space is expected to be completed by mid-October. For more information or to support the project, visit http://www.mageerehab.org/get-involved/fundraising-events.
